In 2024, we stepped onto the Best Ever Pitch Slam stage for the first time and walked away with 2nd place.
Out of more than 100 submissions, only 12 were selected to pitch live. The room was filled with seasoned investors and operators who understand underwriting, risk and execution at a high level.
It was our first time ever competing in a pitch contest.
We did not show up with flash.
We showed up with clarity.
We talked about what we actually do at 507 Capital. Retail strip centers anchored by everyday-use tenants. Coffee shops. Quick service restaurants. Medical and service providers. The kinds of businesses communities rely on every week.
We shared why we focus here. Retail vacancy near historic lows. Well-located neighborhood centers with steady demand. NNN lease structures that help support predictable cash flow over time.
No trends.
No hype.
Just core retail fundamentals.
The response from both the panel and the audience confirmed something we already believed: well-located, necessity-based retail still makes sense. The conversations that followed were thoughtful and direct, and the feedback helped sharpen how we continue to evaluate risk, structure deals and operate assets today.
“Honestly, I just wanted to see how our strategy would hold up in that kind of room. I kept it simple and talked about what 507 Capital actually believes in. The fact that it landed the way it did, especially our first time doing something like that, meant a lot.”— Zach Alms, Founder
Earning 2nd place was a memorable moment. More importantly, it reinforced that our approach resonates in a room full of experienced professionals who know this business.
Recognition is meaningful. Execution is what matters most.
